Fetteh Salt Industry Limited has accused police officers of colluding with land guards. The company claims these officers harass and intimidate their workers.
Specific officers named include CID Senyo Ignatus, Supt. Owusu Dwomoh, and Chief Inspector Kezia Bawre. They are allegedly acting as "puppets" for a notorious land guard named Kwesi Alhaji. His associates, Kofi Baah and Nii Bokorbokor, are also involved.
In a petition to the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Mr. Richard Ni Quaye Dzani signed on behalf of the company. The petition states that police officers make arbitrary arrests at the land guards' request.
The company believes this collaboration allows criminals to assault residents freely. They claim these individuals demolish properties, seize lands, and fire gunshots without fear.
The petition mentions a tragic incident involving a military officer's assassination near the Millennium City Divisional Police Station. This act is believed to be linked to the same land guard group.
Fetteh Salt Industry Limited reported that one director, Mr. Ebo Kobina John, was assaulted on September 5, 2020. He was allegedly stripped naked by Kwesi Alhaji and his gang after resisting their attempts to operate on their land.
Despite reporting this incident to the Millennium City Police Station, there has been no progress. Chief Inspector Kezia Bawre initially handled the case, but the docket is reportedly missing.
Additionally, the company legally acquired five pump-action guns for security purposes. However, just three days later, Sergeant Francis Ahiaku arrested some workers under false pretenses during a land transaction involving Bismark Opoku.
Fetteh Salt Industry Limited condemned these alleged misconducts by police officers. They believe such actions have empowered land guards to continue illegal activities without consequences.
The management is urging the IGP and relevant authorities to investigate this alleged collusion. They seek restoration of law and order in Kasoa and Fetteh areas.
