Fiifi Coleman, a renowned director and actor, is staging The Dilemma of a Ghost. This play aims to reconnect audiences with Ghana’s rich cultural heritage. It celebrates the values and traditions of the past. Coleman believes these traditions are still relevant today.
During a review on Channel One TV’s The Chat, he shared his vision. He wants to make the past relatable for modern audiences. “We are keeping everything in the good old days,” he said. His goal is to make those times interesting for today’s viewers.
Coleman recreates traditional settings and lifestyles in the play. He hopes this will remind Ghanaians of their communal spirit. He expressed concern about the decline of cultural norms and social discipline.
“I want you to come and watch the play and say ‘wow,’” he noted. He described how homes were built in the past, where everyone visited each other freely. These nuances will be present in the production.
Coleman believes storytelling can restore moral direction in communities. “We are losing it,” he lamented about respect for elders and discipline.
The Dilemma of a Ghost aims to entertain while inspiring discussions on cultural identity preservation amid modernization.
