Finance Minister swears in new Ghana Gold Board Members

Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, the Minister for Finance, has sworn in new members of the Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod). This event took place on Monday, May 19. The swearing-in followed consultations with the Council of State.

During the ceremony, Dr. Forson urged the Board to work hard. He emphasized the importance of supporting and sustaining progress in the gold sector. These appointments aim to strengthen governance and operational effectiveness at GoldBod.

The newly appointed members are as follows:
- Kojo Fynn – Chairperson
- Samuel Gyamfi – Chief Executive Officer
- Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah – Minister for Lands and Natural Resources
- Thomas Nyarko Ampem – Deputy Minister for Finance
- Dr. Johnson Asiama – Representative of the Bank of Ghana Governor
- Marietta Agyeiwaa Brew – Legal practitioner and former Attorney General
- Nana Ama Amissah III – Traditional leader representing women

The Board will focus on enhancing transparency and accountability in the gold sector. It aims to support both large-scale and small-scale mining operations.
