The Hohoe Municipal Fire Safety Officer, Assistant Station Officer (ASO) Ofori Collins, has cautioned the public against repainting rusty gas cylinders, stating that it only improves appearance without restoring safety.
Speaking at a sensitization forum at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Hohoe, ASO Ofori urged residents to adhere to gas safety practices, including avoiding overfilling cylinders and replacing faulty regulators.
He warned against placing stones on gas regulators, emphasizing that such actions increase fire risks.

He stressed that fire safety is a shared responsibility and urged residents to contact the Fire Service first in case of emergencies.
