A devastating fire has destroyed a 13-bedroom house in Oforikrom Gaoline, Ashanti Region, leaving families displaced and properties worth thousands of Ghana cedis in ruins.
The fire broke out around midday on Wednesday, with residents rushing to prevent its spread before the KNUST fire service arrived.
Eyewitnesses reported that many children were in school and adults were away when the blaze started.
One affected victim, Madam Assana, shared the emotional toll, revealing that her pregnant twin sister was unable to salvage anything.
Firefighters contained the fire within two hours, and investigations are underway.
This incident adds to the growing number of fires in Ashanti Region, already at 183 this year.
