Fire ravages apartments, stores at Akyem Kwabeng

A major fire broke out at Akyem Kwabeng on Saturday, March 29, 2025. The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) contained the fire quickly. Their efforts prevented extensive damage to nearby properties.

The fire started on the first floor of a storey building. Personnel from the Anyinam Fire Station responded immediately. As the flames spread, reinforcements arrived from the Bunso Fire Station.

Firefighters worked together and controlled the blaze in two hours. Their quick action stopped the fire from reaching ground-floor stores and a nearby apartment. This intervention avoided a larger disaster.

Many personal belongings and electronic appliances were lost in the fire. Fortunately, there were no injuries or fatalities reported.

Investigations are ongoing to find out what caused the outbreak. The GNFS has received praise for their swift and professional response. Their actions saved lives and property in the community.
