Focus on party unity, not tours — Dr. Asah-Asante tells NPP

Political Analyst Dr. Kwame Asah-Asante has criticized Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia. He is the 2024 New Patriotic Party (NPP) Presidential Candidate. His criticism focuses on the party’s ongoing ‘Thank You Tour’ after its electoral defeat.

In an interview with Selorm Adonoo, Dr. Asah-Asante expressed his concerns. He believes the party should address internal issues first. Unity among members is more important than public tours right now.

Many NPP supporters are unhappy after the party primaries and election loss. The leadership needs to reconcile with these aggrieved members. Unresolved grievances threaten the party's unity.

Dr. Asah-Asante mentioned figures like Amoako Baah who feel sidelined. He stressed that the party must reach out to them, including former National Chairman Paul Afoko.

He stated, “That exercise is a bogus one.” There are lingering problems within the party that need attention. Many people were hurt during the primaries and have not been reconciled.

Dr. Asah-Asante emphasized that every vote counts in politics. Healing internal wounds should be the NPP’s main focus for future elections.

Boakye Agyarko also warned that the NPP risks imploding over this tour.
