Footballers injured in crash with fuel tanker on Accra-Kasoa Highway

Several footballers were injured in a serious road accident at Tuba Junction. Their vehicle collided with a fuel tanker on the Accra-Kasoa Highway.

The accident involved a Sprinter bus, registration number GW-7110-22, and a fuel tanker, registration number GN-9568-12.

Reports say the Sprinter bus was traveling from Accra. The tanker was heading towards Accra from Kasoa.

Eyewitnesses told Adom News that the crash happened when the Sprinter driver made a U-turn at Tuba Junction. The bus collided with the oncoming fuel tanker, causing a violent impact.

Many passengers sustained injuries in the crash. Fire service personnel from Weija quickly responded to help transport them. They took the injured to Amamfrom Polyclinic and Akaway Hospital for medical attention.

Meanwhile, some residents rushed to the scene with containers. They tried to collect spilled fuel from the road, raising safety concerns.
