Foreign Affairs Ministry announces visa waiver between Ghana, Morocco

Ghanaians no longer need traditional visas to travel to Morocco.

Sam Okudzeto Ablakwa, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, announced this today.

He shared the news on Facebook on Friday, June 6, 2025.

Travelers will only need an online authorization.

This authorization will be granted within 24 hours without embassy appointments.

Ablakwa explained that this change is part of a significant agreement.

He reached this agreement with Morocco's Foreign Minister, H.E. Nasser Bourita.

This occurred during his two-day working visit to Morocco.

Ablakwa expects the new visa waiver policy to boost trade and tourism.

Direct flights between Ghana and Morocco will increase as a result.

He emphasized that African borders should connect us, not divide us.

“Diplomacy must make a meaningful impact in people's lives,” he stated.

He concluded his post by wishing all Muslims a happy Eid.
