Foreign Affairs Ministry inaugurates Ministerial Advisory Board

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has launched its Ministerial Advisory Board. This board will help the ministry engage with key stakeholders. Its goal is to improve service delivery.

The board is chaired by Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa. Other members include Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson and Trade Minister Elizabeth Ofosu Adjare. Defence Minister Edward Omane Boamah and former Foreign Affairs Minister Prof. Kwamena Ahwoi are also members.

In his speech, Ablakwa emphasized the board's importance amid global diplomatic challenges. He promised that it would produce real results, not just exist for appearances.

He stated, "Your perspectives will guide us through these complexities." He added that the board would enhance accountability and promote inclusive governance.

Ablakwa noted that this is a crucial time for a strong advisory board due to current geopolitical uncertainties.

Additionally, he inaugurated the first Governing Council for the Foreign Service Institute. This council includes diplomats like Ambassador Ramses Cleland and private sector members such as economist Frederick Amissah.

Ablakwa explained that the council's mandate is to connect academic theory with diplomatic practice.
