Foreign Affairs Ministry issues final warning on diplomatic passport returns

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration has issued a final directive for the return of Diplomatic and Service Passports issued under the previous administration, setting a deadline of March 17, 2025.

Despite earlier notices, 404 Diplomatic Passports and 387 Service Passports remain unreturned.

Affected individuals, including former ministers, MPs, judges, ambassadors, and officials linked to the National Cathedral project, must submit their passports to the Ministry’s Legal and Treaties Bureau.

Failure to comply will result in cancellation and placement on a Stop-Watch List, leading to immediate seizure at Ghanaian entry and exit points.

This move follows a presidential order to review and retrieve state-issued passports no longer valid under the new administration.
