Forestry Commission educate students on forest conservation

The Forestry Commission of Ghana has launched an educational initiative aimed at teaching students about forest conservation. This program, targeting school children in the Western North Region, aims to raise awareness of the importance of forests and the need for their preservation. During a recent event held at Sefwi Wiawso, officials emphasized that engaging the youth is crucial for fostering a sense of responsibility towards environmental stewardship.

Through interactive presentations and activities, students learned about various aspects of forestry, including its ecological significance and the detrimental effects of deforestation. The Forestry Commission encourages students to become ambassadors for forest conservation in their communities, highlighting that protecting forests not only benefits biodiversity but also supports livelihoods and climate regulation. The initiative reflects a broader commitment to sustainable environmental practices and aims to inspire future generations to take an active role in preserving Ghana's natural resources.
