Appiah-Kubi Baidoo has resigned from the New Patriotic Party (NPP). He was a former parliamentary candidate for Sefwi Akontombra in the Western North Region. Baidoo cites years of maltreatment as his reason for leaving.
In a letter to the constituency chairman, he detailed his decision. He mentioned prolonged mistreatment of himself and his family. Despite many appeals to party leaders, he saw no change.
Baidoo thanked the NPP for past opportunities. He served as a District Chief Executive and was a three-time parliamentary candidate.
He also apologized to his supporters and sympathizers. He acknowledged that his resignation might disappoint them after two decades in politics.
Baidoo ended his letter by wishing the party success in the future. His resignation adds to ongoing internal issues within the NPP ahead of the 2024 elections.
