Former students of Kumasi Girls SHS to reunite for 3-day AHEMMAA homecoming

The Kumasi Girls Old Girls Association (KGOGA) will host a homecoming celebration. This event is scheduled for May 30 to June 1, 2025. It aims to bring together former students of the all-girls school. The weekend will include mentorship, community service, and cultural activities.

The event is called the AHEMMAA Homecoming. It will take place at Kumasi Girls Senior High School in the Ashanti Region. Hundreds of alumnae from across Ghana and abroad are expected to attend.

Festivities begin on Friday, May 30, with the arrival of old girls. The opening night will feature tradition and pageantry. Attendees can look forward to cultural displays, a cadet parade, and a candlelight procession. There will also be a bonfire with food, music, and social interaction.

Saturday's program focuses on wellness and student empowerment. Activities start with morning aerobics followed by mentorship sessions. These sessions aim to connect current students with former graduates. The day will also launch a Student Support Program and Fundraising Drive for school projects.

The evening will conclude with a variety show featuring alumni performances.

On Sunday, June 1, the event culminates with an official ceremony. The KGOGA Anniversary Project will be handed over to the school. New KGOGA executive members will be sworn in during this ceremony, followed by a thanksgiving service.

Organizers emphasize that this homecoming is more than just a reunion. It’s an opportunity to renew commitment to the school's values and support current students.

“This is more than just a celebration,” said the KGOGA President. “It’s a chance to give back and inspire others.”

This homecoming is one of the biggest alumni events in the school's calendar. It highlights the important role of old student associations in Ghana's educational development.
