Mothers and their newborns detained at Tema General Hospital due to unpaid medical bills were discharged on Thursday, December 27, 2024, following a GHS 40,000 donation from the Myhelp-Yourhelp Foundation.

The initiative, aimed at easing the financial burden on struggling families, also included the distribution of hampers worth GHS 25,000, containing essential baby items like diapers, baby clothing, and formula.

Founder and CEO Mr. Nicholas Cofie explained that the foundation’s intervention was part of their commitment to reducing maternal and child mortality, aligning with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goal 3.

The foundation’s team paid off bills for 20 mothers in the maternity ward and assisted emergency cases.
