Four Suspects Arrested in Aflao Robbery and Murder
The Volta Regional Police have arrested four suspects. They are linked to the robbery and murder of a mobile money vendor in Aflao. The arrests occurred during an operation on May 10, 2025.
The suspects are Michael Sewornu, 34, Korku Agboada, 43, Atsu Agbagla, 36, and Utsuku Onyeso, 22. Utsuku is a Nigerian national. They allegedly played key roles in the shooting of Christopher Ahordo.
Christopher was killed during a robbery on April 28, 2025. The police statement was signed by DSP Felix Danku. The operation involved the Regional Police Intelligence Department (RPID) and other units.
On May 10, between noon and two AM, the joint operation took place. It included the Police SWAT Unit and Operation Motherland Taskforce. A local group called ‘ACTION NOW’ also participated.
On April 28 at around 6:15 PM, five robbers attacked Christopher Ahordo. He was shot near the Diamond Cement factory in Aflao. The assailants stole his bag believed to contain money.
The suspects are currently in police custody for questioning. They will appear in court on Tuesday, May 13, 2025.
