The Ghana Police Service has arrested four suspects in a murder case. They are linked to the killing of a Mobile Money vendor in Aflao, Volta Region.
On May 12, 2025, the Volta Regional Police Command announced the arrests. The operation took place on May 10 and was intelligence-led. It involved the Regional Police Intelligence Department, SWAT Unit, Operation Motherland Taskforce, and a local group called ‘ACTION NOW.’
The suspects are Michael Sewornu, 34; Korku Agboada, 43; Atsu Agbagla, 36; and Utsuku Onyeso, 22. Utsuku is a Nigerian national. All four are currently in police custody and assisting with investigations.
The murder occurred on April 28, 2025. Around 6:15 p.m., five unidentified gunmen attacked Christopher Ahordo at Gbagblakope. He was shot fatally near the Diamond Cement factory. The attackers fled with a bag believed to contain cash.
The suspects will appear in court on Tuesday, May 13, 2025. The police urge residents to remain vigilant and cooperate with them. They encourage timely reporting of credible information to help fight crime in the region.
