Four police officers promoted for arresting suspects linked to Asiyaw murders

The Ghana Police Service has promoted four officers from the Western Central Regional Command.

These promotions are for their exemplary conduct in a high-profile criminal case.

The promoted officers are:
- No. 47459 G/Sgt. Fetus Gameli Kukuia to Inspector,
- No. 52192 G/Cpl. Christian Asare to Sergeant,
- No. 52441 G/Cpl. Nicholas Kingsley Amoah to Sergeant, and
- No. 59947 G/Const. Adam Yakubu to Lance Corporal.

The Police Administration recognized their professionalism and dedication to duty.

Inspector-General of Police Mr. Christian Tetteh Yohuno commended them for their efforts.

He noted that these promotions aim to encourage outstanding performance across the Service.

The promotions follow the officers' role in arresting three armed suspects on April 30, 2025.

The suspects were Hakeem Imoro, Imoro Tahiru, and Nurideen Wahab.

They were apprehended at the Bawdie Barrier near Wassa Akropong.

This occurred just one day after five people were murdered at Asiyaw near Nsawam.

During the operation, the suspects were traveling on a Grand Bird Bus (AS 4431 22).

They were intercepted and searched by police officers.

A submachine gun and 21 rounds of ammunition were found with Hakeem Imoro.

Further questioning led to a breakthrough in the case.

Imoro identified his boss as Samuel Atsu Forson, alias Alanyo.

Forson had already been arrested for his connection to the Asiyaw killings.

Investigations confirmed that the suspects tried to escape jurisdiction and were linked to those murders.

The Police Administration praised the officers for their timely intervention.

They reaffirmed their commitment to rewarding personnel who show exceptional courage and service.
