Four police officers promoted for diligence and professionalism

The Ghana Police Service has promoted four officers from the Western Central Regional Police Command. They were recognized for their diligence, professionalism, and dedication.

The promoted officers are:
- No. 47459 G/Sgt. Fetus Gameli Kukuia to Inspector
- No. 52192 G/Cpl. Christian Asare to Sergeant
- No. 52441 G/Cpl. Nicholas Kingsley Amoah to Lance Corporal
- No. 59947 G/Const. Adam Yakubu

Inspector-General of Police Mr. Christian Tetteh Yohuno praised the officers' efforts. He noted that their promotion would motivate other personnel in the Service. The IGP emphasized that dedication and exceptional performance will be rewarded.

On April 30, 2025, a day after five murders at Asiyaw near Nsawam, police arrested three suspects: Hakeem Imoro, Imoro Tahiru, and Nurideen Wahab. They were found with illegal arms at Bawdie Barrier near Wassa Akropong.

The suspects were on a Grand Bird Bus with registration number AS 4431 22 when stopped by police officers. A search revealed a submachine gun (SMG) and twenty-one rounds of ammunition belonging to Hakeem Imoro.

During questioning, Hakeem stated his boss Forson gave him the firearm. Forson was later identified as Samuel Atsu Forson, already arrested for the Asiyaw murders.

Further investigations linked all three suspects to the murder case at Asiyaw. They were trying to flee when apprehended by vigilant officers from the Western Central Regional Command.

The Ghana Police Service commends these officers for their outstanding work and reaffirms its commitment to rewarding excellence in fighting crime.
