Fredrick Amissah leads new NLA board, tasked with driving innovation and accountability

A new seven-member Governing Board of the National Lottery Authority (NLA) was inaugurated on May 19, 2025. The board aims to drive innovation, increase revenue, and combat illegal lottery operations.

Fredrick Amissah chairs the board. Other members include Mohammed Abdul-Salam, Edward Abrowkwah, Doreen Panyin Annan, Helen Akpene Awo Ziwu, Gerald Baffour Awuah Bonsu, and Hon. Faustina Elipklim Akurugu.

Deputy Minister Thomas Nyarko Ampem administered the oaths on behalf of Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson. He urged the board to reposition the NLA as a high-performing and digitally advanced institution.

Ampem stressed the need for bold reforms and improved digital services. He also called for a strong crackdown on illegal lottery activities.

“The NLA must do more than generate revenue,” he said. “It should support key public projects for national development.”

Fredrick Amissah thanked President Akufo-Addo and the Finance Ministry for their trust. He pledged to lead with transparency, accountability, and practical innovation.

Amissah shared the board’s vision to grow revenue in traditional and digital lottery platforms. They aim to strengthen regulations to make participation more secure and accessible.
