The Minister for Education, Haruna Iddrisu, announced plans to end the Double-Track system. This change will occur at the Senior High School level by 2027.
He shared this information during a meeting in Sunyani. The meeting included members of the Conference of Heads of Assisted Secondary Schools (CHASS).
Haruna Iddrisu explained that key reforms are necessary for this transition. These include revising the curriculum and restructuring the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund).
He emphasized that a board must be established soon to approve expenditures. “We expect that by 2027, the double-track system will be gone,” he stated.
The minister reaffirmed the government's commitment to education investment. He noted that GETFund will continue to enhance school infrastructure across the country.
