Prof. Isaac Boadi, Dean of the Faculty of Finance and Accounting at the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), has emphasized the significant financial commitment the government makes to sustain the Free Senior High School (SHS) policy.
Speaking on the Atupan Show, Prof. Boadi revealed the state invests over GHS 18,000 per student annually, covering essentials like uniforms, admission fees, and maintenance costs.
He urged Ghanaians to support the policy, noting its long-term benefits in building an educated workforce. He also countered claims that Free SHS has lowered educational quality, highlighting successes in fields like Robotics.
Prof. Boadi announced an upcoming tour by university educators to promote the policy and address misconceptions.
He called for unity in safeguarding Free SHS as a key pillar of national development.
