NPP running mate Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh has criticized the Ghana National Association of Private Schools (GNAPS) for petitioning CHRAJ over the Free SHS placement policy.
GNAPS claims the 30% priority placement for public school students in top senior high schools is discriminatory.
Speaking at UPSA, Dr. Prempeh defended the policy, stating it ensures fairness for underprivileged students in public schools.
He described the petition as audacious, stressing that the policy was implemented to promote equity and address past abuses that favored the privileged.
GNAPS's opposition has sparked debate on the inclusivity of the Free SHS programme.
