The Ministry of the Interior has declared Friday, June 6, 2025, a public holiday. This day is for Eid-Ul-Adha, an important Islamic festival.
On Thursday, May 29, 2025, the Minister for the Interior issued a statement in Accra. Hon. Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak signed the statement. It informs the public to observe this day as a holiday nationwide.
The Minister urged all citizens to recognize and celebrate this occasion's significance.
Eid-Ul-Adha is also known as the "Festival of Sacrifice." Muslims worldwide celebrate it to honor Prophet Ibrahim's willingness to sacrifice his son for God. The day includes prayers, sharing food and alms, and acts of charity.
