On May 6, the Supreme Court dismissed an injunction from MP Vincent Assafuah. He represents Old Tafo and sought to block proceedings against Chief Justice Gertrude Torkornoo.
Assafuah's application was filed by his lawyer, Godfred Yeboah Dame. Dame is a former Attorney General.
The ruling came from Acting Chief Justice Paul Baffoe-Bonnie and Justices Yonny Kulendi and Amadu Tanko. They voted to dismiss the injunction request.
Justices Henrietta Mensah Bonsu and Ernest Gaewu disagreed with the majority decision. They expressed their dissenting opinions in court.
