A delegation from Future Leaders Model United Nations, Ghana (FLMUN-Ghana) visited the Indian High Commissioner to Ghana last week. The visit aimed to strengthen climate diplomacy and empower youth.
The delegation was led by President Prince Anuwar-Sadat Amadu. It included Queen Nihad Titiaka Oases Ibrahim, Director of Climate Action, and Mr. Nana Akwasi Sarpong, Director of Administration. Mr. Sunil Kumar, Second Secretary at the Indian High Commission, also attended.
They discussed forming strategic partnerships in climate action and afforestation. They also talked about technical cooperation and youth exchange initiatives. The delegation introduced Queen Titiaka’s project called “Empowering Communities for Climate Action.”
This initiative focuses on grassroots environmental transformation through various methods. These include afforestation, waste management, clean cooking solutions, and community engagement.
Mr. Amadu noted that the High Commissioner welcomed their proposals warmly. He expressed support for the afforestation campaign and interest in youth exchange programs between India and Ghana.
Such programs could provide valuable learning opportunities for Ghanaian youth. Prince Sadat stated that this meeting is a milestone for global partnerships empowering young leaders.
He believes this collaboration will help create a greener future together.
After the meeting, Queen Nihad Titiaka shared her thoughts: “As Ghana’s Most Beautiful 2024, my mission is clear—beauty must serve.” She emphasized that every effort contributes to a better future.
She appreciated the High Commission's commitment to supporting their campaign and facilitating a youth exchange program. She feels responsible as a leader and aims to make their vision flourish with partners.
