The chiefs of Danfa, Kweiman, and Amrahia have denied involvement in a recent demolition. This incident occurred on the Amrahia Dairy Farm lands on Thursday. They claim it is an attempt to damage their reputations.
In a joint statement, the chiefs said they were wrongly accused. They had no prior knowledge of the demolition activity. Their investigations point to an individual from the Agbawe family in Oyarifa as the alleged mastermind. This person reportedly acted with support from the Adenta Police Commander.
The disputed land is part of government-acquired Amrahia Dairy Farm lands. These lands have remained unused for years. The chiefs are currently engaged in efforts to reclaim them as rightful custodians. A government audit of the lands is also underway.
They believe the demolition was intended to discredit them before the government. It could derail their land restitution process. Nii Djanie Klu, spokesperson for the chiefs, expressed concern about their credibility. He noted that the timing and nature of the demolition seem politically motivated.
Nii Djanie Tsuru Afutu Brempong IV, Chief of Danfa, added accusations against the Agbawe family. He stated they have no legitimate claim to the land and are obstructing government efforts.
The chiefs are calling for a thorough investigation into this demolition incident. They urge the government to focus on completing the audit and returning lands to traditional authorities.
