GA/R: Tragic fire claims life of 5-year-old girl at Adjei Kojo Sancity

A devastating fire broke out in a kiosk at Adjei Kojo Sancity. This happened on Sunday, May 4, 2025, in the Tema West Constituency. The fire claimed the life of a 5-year-old girl. The community is now mourning her loss.

The victim was Yayra Hannah Agbeve. She had left church early to go home and rest. Her mother, Madam Joyce Agbeve, stayed at church unaware of the tragedy.

An eyewitness reported seeing smoke coming from the kiosk shortly after Yayra returned home. Residents rushed to help but could not extinguish the flames. Sadly, the young girl was found burned beyond recognition in the wreckage.

Madam Joyce Agbeve spoke to the media about her shock and sorrow. The cause of the fire is still unknown.

Charity Dela Siame, Assembly Member for Adjei Kojo, has called for an investigation by the Ghana Police Service. She also urged local authorities and social welfare agencies to support the grieving mother.
