GACL confirms 'brief power interruption' at KIA during Tuesday's downpour, announces normalcy

Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL) reported a power outage at Kotoka International Airport on March 25, 2025. The outage occurred around 17:48 hours.

In a statement dated the same day, GACL explained the cause. They said it was due to heavy rain.

The backup power system activated as expected. However, an electrical fault stopped power from reaching the terminal.

Power was fully restored by 18:19 hours.

GACL apologized to affected passengers for the brief downtime. They reaffirmed their commitment to providing seamless service at the airport.
