GACL disputes drug trafficking allegations, warns of legal action

The Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL) has denied involvement in drug trafficking. This follows allegations linked to two aircraft at Kotoka International Airport. GACL called these accusations baseless and malicious.

On April 8, 2025, GACL issued a press statement. The statement responded to claims made by Rev. Ntim Fordjour. He alleged that GACL officials provided false information about the aircraft.

GACL emphasized that these accusations are false. They threaten the integrity of the company’s operations and leadership.

The company clarified that landing permits are issued by the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA). This process involves National Security, not GACL.

All security procedures were conducted by Aviation Security and National Security. A third-party ground service provider, Swissport, handled the aircraft. There was no evidence of illegal substances on either aircraft.

Regarding internal collusion, GACL stated its Managing Director, Mrs. Yvonne Nana Afriyie Opare, has never met Rev. Ntim Fordjour.

GACL urged those making false allegations to provide evidence for their claims.

The company warned media houses and individuals spreading these claims. GACL stated it will seek legal action against anyone publishing false information related to Rev. Ntim Fordjour's allegations.
