Staff of the Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL) implicated in a recent cocaine smuggling case at Kotoka International Airport (KIA) have been reinstated.
The incident involved the smuggling of 8.5 kilograms of cocaine aboard a Royal Air Maroc flight on March 23, 2024.
Following the seizure of the drugs in Belgium, GACL initially suspended the implicated staff.
However, Transport Minister Kwaku Ofori Asiamah told Parliament that the staff were cleared after investigations, stating that they were not found culpable.
The Minister did not confirm if any airport personnel were responsible for the smuggling.
