Alhaji Alhassan Farihan, Managing Director of Ghana Commercial Bank (GCB), has donated 2,000 bags of cement. This donation supports the construction of the New Gbewaa Palace in the Dagbon Kingdom.
The Dagbon Kingdom is one of Africa’s oldest cultural entities. It is building an ultra-modern palace to reflect its heritage and prestige. The current Gbewaa Palace is inadequate for the kingdom's stature. This has led to calls for a new palace.
As a proud son of Dagbon, Alhaji Farihan believes it is everyone's duty to preserve the kingdom's legacy. He presented the donation receipts to the palace committee on April 28. He reaffirmed his commitment to help complete this important project.
Farihan urged all sons and daughters of Dagbon to contribute as well. Yaa Naa Mahama Abukari II expressed gratitude for Farihan's generous support. He highlighted the cultural and historical importance of this project.
After touring the construction site, Farihan was pleased with the work done so far. He pledged to continue supporting the project in any way he can. Musah Yakubu, Public Relations Officer for Gbewaa Palace, also thanked Farihan for his contribution.
He expressed hope that this donation would boost progress on the project. Yakubu appealed to other organizations and individuals for support as well. The new Gbewaa Palace will serve as a unified seat for all future Yaa Naas, promoting unity in Dagbon.
