The Ghana Export Promotion Authority (GEPA) held a 2-day workshop. This event focused on social media marketing for 25 businesses in the beauty and cosmetics sector.
The workshop took place from April 24 to April 25, 2025, in Accra. It was organized by GEPA’s technology-driven information center, Impact Hub. The event collaborated with Digital Marketing Bureau Consult, a Ghanaian IT consulting firm.
Ambrose Edwin Nsarkoh is the Deputy CEO of GEPA (Operations and Admin). He addressed participants about the government's focus on small and medium-scale enterprises (SMEs). He emphasized that this initiative aims to encourage young people to start their own businesses.
Nsarkoh stated that the program will boost employment opportunities. It will also stimulate production and support export growth in the country.
Henry Otoo is a Senior Digital Training Consultant at Digital Marketing Bureau Consult. He praised the initiative and encouraged businesses to invest in social media marketing. This investment can help them connect better with their customers.
Otoo mentioned that each participant would receive six months of support after training. This support aims to assist them in engaging customers online effectively.
In total, 25 representatives from beauty and cosmetics businesses attended the workshop. Additionally, five officers from GEPA participated as well. All attendees received certificates upon completing the course successfully.
Key topics covered during the workshop included digital branding, target markets, content strategy, advertising, ROI, and analytics.
