The Director-General of the Ghana Education Service (GES), Dr. Eric Nkansah, has expressed optimism that the 2024 WASSCE results could be released before year-end, despite delays caused by financial constraints.
Speaking to JoyNews, he confirmed WAEC's collaboration with the Ministry of Education on the matter but acknowledged that unforeseen challenges could affect the timeline.
John Kapi, WAEC’s Director of Public Affairs, revealed that the government owes the council GH₵118 million, hindering the final stages of result processing.
While theory and practical marking are complete, the objective section requires specialized machines, delaying progress.
Kapi noted WAEC’s initial goal to release results by December 19 but highlighted the financial setback as a significant obstacle.
