GHA condemns vandalism of Tantra Hill Underpass

Ghana Highway Authority Statement

The Ghana Highway Authority (GHA) has condemned vandalism at the Tantra Hill underpass. This underpass is located on the Achimota-Ofankor road (N6).

A statement from the GHA’s Public Affairs Division denounced this act. It emphasized that tampering with public infrastructure is a crime. This falls under the Road Traffic Regulations, 2012, LI 2180, Section 114 subsection 4 (b).

The statement followed a video by BuzzStopBoys. The video showed damage to the retaining wall near the underpass.

Earlier assessments by GHA Engineers found spalling on part of the retaining wall. This left rebars exposed and vulnerable to theft.

The Authority urged residents and commuters to be vigilant. They should report any suspicious activities around public infrastructure. Reports can be made to the nearest police station or to GHA's Public Affairs Division.

“Your safety is our priority,” they stated. “Let’s protect our roads together.”

The GHA assured the public that the underpass remains structurally sound and safe for all users. Repairs are planned to prevent further deterioration.
