Mary Addah, the Executive Director of the Ghana Integrity Initiative (GII), praised the NDC government. She highlighted their commitment to fighting corruption through the 2025 budget.
Addah spoke on Channel One TV about President Mahama’s first 120 days in office. She noted that the budget shows a clear effort to turn anti-corruption promises into action. This includes strengthening oversight institutions.
She emphasized the significant increase in funding for anti-corruption agencies. This increase signals the administration's seriousness in tackling corruption. “The government’s commitment to anti-corruption is great,” she stated.
Addah acknowledged initial concerns about implementing these commitments. However, she found clarity in the budget presentation. “We were worried about how this would be done, but clarity was given,” she explained.
