The early renewal of Professor Samuel Kwaku Bonsu’s tenure as Rector of GIMPA has ignited controversy.
Staff and faculty members have voiced dissatisfaction with the outgoing Council's decision, accusing them of poor governance and political favoritism.
Allegations include nepotism, with Council Chair Kofi Darko Asante being linked to President Akufo-Addo, and claims that the Council has failed to properly oversee the institution’s operations.
Critics argue that the decision, made nearly 10 months before the current term ends, should have been left to the incoming governing body.
Additional concerns involve the legitimacy of the meeting and the Rector’s age, with some questioning his eligibility for reappointment.
