The Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) has issued a March 2025 deadline for the Ghana Police Service to provide concrete updates on the murder investigation of investigative journalist Ahmed Hussein-Suale.
Speaking at a press conference, GJA President Albert Kwabena Dwumfuor warned that failure to meet the deadline would push the Association to seek redress at the ECOWAS Court of Justice.
He expressed frustration over the prolonged lack of progress, stating it had eroded trust in the police.
The GJA is also monitoring the case of journalist Latif Iddrisu, who was assaulted while covering illegal mining, and may escalate that matter as well.
Meanwhile, international media bodies, including the IFJ and FAJ, have pledged support for the GJA’s pursuit of justice.
