Queen Nihad Titiaka Oases Ibrahim, the winner of Ghana’s Most Beautiful 2024, is an environmental advocate. She led her team from EcoGreen Oases Legacy to meet Hon. Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed. The meeting took place at the Ministry for Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation in Accra. They discussed sustainable partnerships for grassroots climate action.
This meeting is part of Queen Titiaka’s project, “Empowering Communities for Climate Action.” The project aims to address Ghana’s environmental challenges through education and community initiatives. These include afforestation, recycling, clean cooking, and waste management.
During the meeting, Queen Titiaka shared her vision for a climate-resilient Ghana. She wants to mobilize youth, women, and schools in vulnerable areas. She stressed the need for public-private partnerships to achieve sustainable development goals.
Hon. Murtala Muhammed welcomed the delegation warmly. He praised Queen Titiaka for promoting environmental awareness through her platform. He also commended EcoGreen Oases Legacy for its innovative approach and grassroots focus.
The Minister expressed his support for community-centered climate actions. He noted it is encouraging to see young leaders like Queen Titiaka take charge of environmental issues. His Ministry is open to partnerships that align with national sustainability strategies.
Queen Titiaka thanked the Minister and his team for their support. She emphasized that this meeting represents a commitment to future generations. Together, they can reshape the narrative on climate action starting locally.
The EcoGreen Oases Legacy initiative began earlier this year after her GMB win. It has started mobilizing schools and youth groups for climate education campaigns. Plans include tree-planting drives, recycling boot camps, and clean cooking awareness tours across Ghana.
With the Ministry's endorsement, Queen Titiaka's campaign will gain more national attention as a youth-led initiative in environmental governance. Also present at the meeting were Ms. Cynthia Asare Bediako and Mrs. Anthoinet Ohene-Amoah from EcoGreen Oases Legacy.
As Ghana faces increasing climate vulnerability, initiatives like Empowering Communities for Climate Action are crucial reminders that change starts with empowered citizens and inclusive leadership.
