GMet forecasts sunny weather with possible thunderstorms in parts of Ghana

The Ghana Meteorological Agency (GMet) predicts mostly sunny weather today, April 17. Some areas may experience thunderstorms and rain later in the day.

This morning will start with partly cloudy skies nationwide. Early morning mist is expected in coastal, forest, and hilly regions.

As the day goes on, sunny weather will prevail in most areas. However, residents in the forest, transition, and northern zones should prepare for possible thunderstorms. These storms may occur from late afternoon into the evening.

Temperatures are expected to be high across various sectors. The northern zone will see particularly high readings.

Here are the forecasted temperature ranges:

- Coastal zone: 24°C minimum, 33°C maximum
- Forest zone: 24°C minimum, 35°C maximum
- Transition zone: 23°C minimum, 36°C maximum
- Northern zone: 24°C minimum, 41°C maximum

The public is advised to stay hydrated. Take precautions against high temperatures, especially in the north.
