The Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT) has issued a three-day ultimatum to the Ghana Education Service (GES) and the Police Service to prosecute a student who stabbed a teacher in Offinso, causing the loss of the teacher's left eye.
GNAT General Secretary, Thomas Musah Tanko, warned that teachers may withdraw their services next week if there is no swift action.
The incident occurred on November 8 at Asuoso Senior High School when the teacher, who had asked the student to enter the classroom, was attacked.
Tanko expressed anger over the lack of action and called for immediate prosecution of the student and compensation for the injured teacher.
He emphasized that failure to address the issue could lead to industrial action.
