The growing indiscipline in Ghanaian schools has sparked renewed debate after a shocking viral video showed an Accra Academy student flogging two peers with a cutlass.
Addressing the issue on Channel One TV, GNAT General Secretary, Thomas Musah, lamented the decline of discipline and authority in schools.
He recalled an era when headteachers and teachers maintained firm control, but today, he says, educators operate in fear of retaliation from students and parents.
Musah warned that the lack of character training is endangering the country’s future, urging stakeholders to restore discipline in schools.
He stressed that without immediate action, Ghana risks raising a generation that disregards authority, making schools unsafe for both students and teachers.
