GOIL, Star Oil drop fuel prices as cedi gains strength

Motorists in Ghana are relieved. Two major oil companies, Goil and Star Oil, have cut fuel prices. This follows the recent rise of the Ghanaian cedi against the US dollar.

The price cuts will help consumers and transport operators. They have long requested lower prices due to the cedi's gains.

Goil Reduces Prices Across All Fuel Types

Goil is Ghana’s largest indigenous oil company. It has lowered prices for all fuel types. The new rates are:

- Petrol: ₵12.52 per litre, down from ₵13.27
- Diesel: ₵12.98, reduced from ₵13.87
- Premium: ₵14.34, previously ₵15.27

Goil is one of the first major companies to respond to this change.

Star Oil Joins Price Reduction Wave

Star Oil has also lowered its prices, but its premium fuel remains unchanged. New prices at Star Oil stations are:
