GPL 2024/25: Basake Holy Stars aiming to break duck against Berekum Chelsea

Basake Holy Stars aim to end their three-match losing streak. They will host Berekum Chelsea in matchday 26 of the Ghana Premier League. The game takes place at Crosby Awuah Memorial Park in Anyinase.

Holy Stars have struggled this year. They have not won in eight league matches, with five losses and three draws. Their last victory was in December against Young Apostles at home. They received a 3-0 win over Nsoatreman due to the latter's withdrawal from the league. Still, they need to regain their winning form.

At home, Holy Stars have performed relatively well. They have four wins in 11 matches, ranking seventh for home points with 22.

Berekum Chelsea seeks to bounce back from a recent loss. They lost 1-0 to Asante Kotoko last week. This season has been mixed for them, earning 32 points from 24 matches. However, they struggle on the road, with only six points from 11 away games.

Chelsea currently sits in ninth place, just above Samartex by one point. Samartex is last season's league winner and now ranks tenth.

In their previous encounter on matchday nine, both teams drew 2-2. Chelsea's midfielder Stephen Amankona scored a late equalizer then.

Relegation concerns loom over Basake Holy Stars as they seek an end to their losing streak. Meanwhile, Chelsea hopes to capitalize on their opponents' struggles and secure all three points.

The match kicks off at 15:00 GMT on Sunday.
