GPL 2024/25: Karela boost survival hopes with comeback win over Bechem United

Karela United improved their chances of staying in the Ghana Premier League. They achieved this with a comeback win over Bechem United on Sunday, March 23, 2025. The match took place at the Aliu Mahama Stadium.

Bechem United took the lead in the 44th minute. Emmanuel Abban scored a brilliant goal, making it 1-0 at halftime.

In the second half, Karela responded with strong pressure. Their efforts paid off in the 76th minute. Defender Baba Moro Abdulai accidentally scored an own goal, leveling the score.

After equalizing, Karela kept up their intensity. Just five minutes later, Eric Antwi scored to complete the comeback. Nurudeen Amadu’s team held on to secure all three points.

This victory ended Karela’s three-game winless streak. It lifted them to 15th place, just above relegation. Bechem United missed a chance to close in on league leaders Asante Kotoko. They remain in 5th place, six points behind the top team.
