GRA Organised Labour rejects claims of non-existent Deputy Commissioner appointment

Organised Labour at the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) has denied recent claims. These claims suggest that Elsie Appau-Klu was appointed as a Deputy Commissioner.

In an internal message to staff on May 21, they stated that the position does not exist. They called the reports "reckless" and expressed concern about misinformation damaging the institution's integrity.

Organised Labour has informed the Commissioner-General about this issue and requested immediate action. They noted, “We have not seen any statement from Ms. Elsie Appau-Klu distancing herself from these misleading reports.”

The group demands that GRA Management issue a memo to clarify the situation. They want to reinforce the Authority’s established leadership structure.

Additionally, they are calling for accountability from advisors within GRA. They stressed adherence to the GRA’s Code of Ethics and Conduct.

“Such advisors must be reminded of their boundaries,” they stated. The importance of protecting the Authority’s integrity is crucial, especially during government reforms.

Organised Labour pledged to resist any attempts that compromise GRA’s professional standards for personal interests.

The memo concluded with a call for solidarity among staff. It reinforced their commitment to upholding the authority’s values and operational integrity.

The Customs Staff Association also received this communication.
