GRA: SML’s mandate in petroleum, minerals sectors still suspended

The Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) has addressed recent media reports. These reports claimed that Strategic Mobilisation Ghana Ltd. (SML) received a new mandate. This mandate was said to involve revenue assurance in the petroleum and minerals sectors.

The GRA clarified that SML's services remain suspended. This suspension was put in place pending further review in April 2024.

In a press release dated May 14, 2025, the GRA expressed concern over misleading publications. Various online news outlets and print media reported that SML had resumed operations. The authority emphasized that no directive has been issued for SML to restart its work.

The GRA stated, “We have not instructed SML to activate or resume operations.” They reaffirmed their commitment to protecting national revenue with integrity and transparency. The GRA dismissed the media reports as inaccurate.
