GRA urges entities to stop charging 1% e-levy from all channels - Ghanaian Times

The Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) has issued a directive. All charging entities must stop the one percent Electronic Transfer Levy (E-Levy). This applies to all their channels.

The directive took effect at midnight on April 2, 2025.

In a statement, the GRA said its Electronic Transfer Management and Assurance System would revert to 'no charge.' This change affects all transactions posted by entities from that time.

Charging entities must process refunds for any E-Levy amounts deducted from customers. They need to do this starting today, April 2, 2025.

Entities should establish a quick refund process for these cases. They must also keep proper documentation of all refunds processed. Reports of these funds must be submitted to the GRA.
