Galamsey: Publish names and pictures of all operators – PRINPAG to members

The Private Newspapers and Online News Publishers Association of Ghana (PRINPAG) has launched a "name and shame" campaign to combat illegal mining (galamsey).

In a statement on September 10, 2024, PRINPAG condemned galamsey as a threat to Ghana and urged its members to publish the names and pictures of those involved.

They warned that any members complicit in galamsey would face expulsion and legal action.

The initiative aims to inspire collective action, and PRINPAG emphasized unity in the fight, referencing the Asantehene’s recent decisive actions against illegal mining.
