Professor Ransford Gyampo, President of the University of Ghana's UTAG, has criticized the government's response to the illegal mining (galamsey) crisis.
After a meeting between President Akufo-Addo and Organised Labour, where the President requested more time to address the issue, Prof. Gyampo expressed frustration over the government's communication, calling it premature and unhelpful.
He believes the focus should be on real action against galamsey rather than seeking public sympathy.
Organised Labour had declared a strike for October 10, demanding a ban on mining and stronger government intervention.
